GUKPT unveils £1.75m 2013 schedule

The 2012 incarnation of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) may be drawing to a close at The Vic this week but attention is already turning to what promises to be an even bigger 2013 series.
Organisers have announced details of a streamlined 2013 GUKPT which will feature a total guaranteed prize pool of £1.75 million. The 12 GUKPT No Limit Hold’em Main Events will include both £1,000 + £70 (£200,000 guaranteed) and £500 + £50 Deepstack (£50,000 guaranteed) events, hosted in Grosvenor G Casinos around the country.
Small stakes players will once again get a chance at turning a minor investment into a major score as the massive £100 + £20 GUKPT Goliath mega-tournament makes a very welcome return. Coventry's Ricoh Arena is once again the venue for one of the highlights of the summer poker calendar and there's even more incentive to give it a shot this time around as the guarantee has been doubled to £200,000.
Tour champions will be rewarded too – this time in the form of free entry into the £400,000 guaranteed Grand Final held in London in December. All GUKPT Main Event champions plus winners of side events with buy-ins of over £101 will bag a seat into the season ending finale. Winners of side events with buy-ins up to £100 (excluding satellites) will also scoop a bonus prize, too, in the form of £500 in GUKPT vouchers, which can be used towards events in the 2013 season.
