The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour will be back for a new season in 2011 with monthly stops throughout the Britain, and for the first time Ireland.
The 2011 gets under way in Manchester in January with further £1,000 Main Events scheduled for Walsall, Luton, Coventry and Blackpool. There will also be a £1,500 buy in tournament in London in March with a £2,500 Grand Final, also scheduled for The Vic in December. For the first time ever, the GUKPT will be heading across the Irish Sea for a tournament in Ireland at an as yet unnamed venue.The popular Summer Series events with smaller buy-ins and twin locations will also be making a return between May and July with Brighton, Dundee, Bolton, Plymouth, Sheffield and Southampton all hosting tournaments.The 2011 Tour will also feature £200,000 in added prize money, £75,000 of which will go to the top finishers on a points based Leader Board. Players can earn points in all GUKPT Main Events as well as in side events (depending on the number of entrants, buy-in and finishing position). Side events in Blackpool are currently in full swing with the first of two opening days for the £1,000 Main Event starting tomorrow. There's a £150+£15 Main Event freezeout super satellite at the G Casino in the seaside resort starting at 8.30pm tonight.
