The latest leg of the GUKPT at the G Casino, Manchester is well under way now with a number of side events already won.

Darren McCormack took the opening £100 NL Hold ‘em Freezeout event for a cash of £5,490 with Iain Potter claiming the £150 NL Hold ‘em title for a cash of £4,810. Martin Silke, fresh from his victory at the GUKPT London Main Event continued his excellent form taking £10,860 after winning the £200 buy in NL Hold ‘em event. The £300 Double Chance Freezeout was won by Iqbal Patel who took prize money of almost £12,500. Reyaaz Mulla beat a field of 54 runners to claim the £250 Pot Limit Omaha event and the first prize of £5,040. The winners of all the side events now qualify for the Champion of Champions tournament later this year.


Day 1A of the £1,000 Main Event started yesterday with the 122 starters already whittled down to 30. Jeff Kimber is in the lead with 88,400 chips. Day 1B starts today at 2pm. We’ll know the winner by Sunday evening.
