GUKPT Heads to Luton

Thursday, 16 October 2014

As the EPT action reaches its climax in London the tournament caravan heads up the M1 to Luton for the latest leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT).

The first of two opening flights in the £1,000+£80 GUKPT Luton Main Event is off at noon today with Day 1b following at the same time tomorrow. Players will receive a starting stack of 20,000 with the clock set at 60-minutes. Re-entry is open for the first six-levels of play during both opening flights.

There's a £30 rebuy turbo satellite into the Main Event at 4pm today, as well as plenty of other side event action.

Driton Haxhiaj took the honours in last year's visit to Luton. He topped a 262 entry field and a final table that included Mitchell Johnson, Sin Melin and Carlo Citrone to pocket a score of £42,500. The big cash winner was Iqbal Ahmed though, who collected £50,000 after a four-way chop.
