Full Tilt to Sponsor IPO Tour

Friday, 24 April 2015

The International Poker Open (IPO) Tour will return on May 22nd, but this time around the low stakes festival will have a new headline sponsor in the form of Full Tilt.

Announced in a press release sent out this week, the online poker company announced that it has assumed control of the popular tour and will now provide branding, services and satellites throughout the IPO season.

To mark the new sponsorship deal, the event, which takes place in cities such as Dublin, Newcastle, London and Cork, will be rebranded as the Full Tilt International Poker Open Tour. However, despite the change of name, players will still be able to ante-up and play for six-figure prizepool from as little as $250.

"With affordable buy-ins and satellites but big prize pools, we're giving players of all levels a great live poker tournament experience, whatever their bankroll. Last year's Dublin Main Event attracted over 1,600 entries for a €330,000 prizepool – our goal is to top those numbers by boosting online qualification," said Full Tilt's Managing Director, Dominic Mansour.

As well as brining tournament experience and a mark of quality to the new season of the IPO, Full Tilt will also be offering a slew of online satellites for players. Currently underway and on offer for each of the tour's six stops, the online qualifiers will cost from as little as $0.25 which means the numbers could easily swell throughout the season.

For those in the know, IPO events are famed for their large fields and over the years the festival's flagship tournament in Dublin has attracted field in excess of 1,500 runners. This year's opening leg will take place just outside the Irish capital in Bray.

For $250 players will be able to ante-up inside the Star Casino Bray on May 22nd and compete for a prizepool expected to reach between $50,000 and $75,000.

In addition to hosting exclusive IPO satellites, Full Tilt will also offer online buy-ins for Irish residents, which means players can ante-up ahead of time, as well as a slew of side events and cash games at each stop throughout the season.

The first Full Tilt IPO event will take place between May 22th and May 24th and players can qualify online right now.
