Australia’s cricketers are well known for using a bit of verbal banter to unsettle their opponents. The same could be said about their poker players, well about Tony G at least. The loud mouth Aussie met his match in the opening round of the Full Tilt Poker Million though after losing out to Luke Schwartz.

Schwartz, no stranger to a bit of so-called ‘mental disintegration’ himself, beat a field that included Bill Edler, Mark Vos, Mark Denmark and Tony G before overcoming a 120,000 chip deficit to beat John Duthie heads up. He sealed the win holding a better flush to Duthie. Schwarz now moves forward to the semi final in October.


He will be joined by Annette Obrestad, new Brighton and Hove Albion owner Tony Bloom and Paul Zimbler who all won their respective heats.

Heat One - Ram Vaswani, Mike McDonald, Julian Gardner, Annette Obrestad, Soraya Homam, Full Tilt Poker qualifier
