Frenchman Jan Boubli Wins the EPT Barcelona Open

Jan Boubli, a former dentist from France has won the first event of this season’s European Poker Tour, winning the largest tournament in its history in the process. He outplayed 325 other players in the $4,000 Euro buy-in event.

Jan Boubli, a former dentist from France has won the first event of this season’s European Poker Tour, winning the largest tournament in its history in the process. He outplayed 325 other players in the $4,000 Euro buy-in event. The event’s prize pool was worth over $1.3 million Euros, Boubli’s first place earned him $416,000 Euros and a seat in the $10,000 Euro buy-in Grand Finale event that will be held in Monte Carlo in March of 2006. Notable pro’s who were left in Jan’s wake included: Marcel Luske, Devilfish Ulliot, Barny Boatman and Gus Hansen, although Hansen did make the final table before busting out in fifth place.
