Fraser Bellamy wins Dusk Till Dawn Monte Carlo for £78,500

Monday, 20 December 2010

Dusk Till Dawn have had a very successful 2010 what with hosting the PokerStars UKIPT, breaking the attendance record for a live tournament in the UK and hosting several televised events that have attracted some of UK poker’s biggest names. Their last major event of 2010 was the £1,090 Monte Carlo event with a £200,000 guarantee.

In the end a field of 255 put up the cash or satellited in via Dusk Til Dawn’s online poker room in order to compete in the event. The final table featured such tournament mainstays as EPT champion William Fry, online tournament don and UKIPT runner-up Jack Ellwood and of course eventual champion Fraser Bellamy, who has a near-unblemished track record at Dusk Till Dawn.

He has only cashed four times in tournaments at the renowned Nottingham club but all four of them have been wins, including a £13,000 victory at the Monthly Deepstack back in June and two side event wins. This £78,487 score dwarfs his previous live cashes, however, and should see him at the tables for more major events at Dusk Till Dawn and beyond.

Going on his record in Nottingham, that sounds like bad news for the UK tournament poker scene. He’ll surely win all the money.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 Fraser Bellamy £78,487.50
2 Jack Ellwood £4,5885.00
3 Raymond Norton £27,531.00
4 Shaun King £19,320.00
5 Chris Gordon £14,490.00
6 Lee Mcmillan £10,867.50
7 William Fry £8,452.50
8 Simon Deadman £6,037.50
9 Benjamin Jenkins £4,830.00
