Frantic Day 3 at EPT San Remo

Frantic Day 3 at EPT San Remo

Monday, 19 April 2010

Rather like TV gameshow Catchphrase's Ready Money Round the action was fast and furious at Day 3 of EPT San Remo with 128 eliminations in just 8 hours of play.

When the dust settled (no volcanic pun intended) it was Sweden's Jakob Karlsson with 1.8m chips who had the largest stack. Joining him at the top of the leader board were Turkey's Kadir Karabulut on 1,5770,000 and EPT Snowfest winner Allan Baekke on 1,485,000. Dmitry Stelmak ended the day on 1,443,000 with Swedish pair Jens Thorson and Per Albin Linde on 1,300,000 and 1,193,000 respectively.

British qualifier Michael Piper, sporting an impressive Merv Hughes style moustache, was next on 1,182,000 with APPT Macau winner Dermot Blain rounding out the chip millionaires on 1,032,000.

Liv Boeree is still in the hunt for the €1,250,000 first prize as is PokerStars Caribbean Adventure winner Harrison Gimbel and EPT Baden winner Thang Duc Nguyen.

Bertrand Grospellier's challenge ended yesterday, as did that of fellow Frenchmen Thomas Bichon and Arnaud Mattern. They all made the money, as did Jude Ainsworth, Jason Mercier and UK players Andrew Teng, James Williams and James Dempsey.

The action on the Italian Riviera resumes at noon today.
