Foxwoods World Poker Finals begins including $10,000 event

Thursday, 14 October 2010

The World Poker Tour has come once again to Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut with 22 events culminating in a six-day $10,000 WPT Championship that begins two weeks from tomorrow. Last year, 353 players competed in the WPT event and Cornel Cimpan took home $910,058 for being last man standing.

This year the casino has already put on a $600 NL and $300 NL tournament as well as a $400 Stud event. Today, a $400 deepstack NL event and a NL Shootout kick off with LHE, Omaha 8, PLO, Stud mix, HORSE, HOSE and other mixed games on the table.

The $10,000 WPT Championship will last over six days with no separate opening flights – Foxwoods is, er, pretty huge. The structure will feature two hour levels and 400BB starting stacks so those sitting down for Day 1 are prepared for the long haul.
