The Great Poker League (GPL) is living up to its name with the addition of a former England test cricketer to its roster of players.
Former England player Ed Giddins will be leading the recently formed “Team GPL” into some prestigious poker events in 2007. Giddins joins GPL marketing director Colin Hawker and the top-ranking payer in the GPL Annual League on the team.
Giddins is no stranger to the poker scene. As well as some outstanding results in notable tournaments and a terrific record at online poker, he has also worked as a commentator on some of the poker channels.
'We are thrilled to have Ed on board,” said Colin Hawker, GPL marketing director. “As well as being a damn good poker player and a well known face on the circuit, he is also great fun to be with. Myself, Ed and the final member of Team GPL are sure to have a lot of fun next year and, fingers crossed, we might even get some results too.'
