57 players gathered at Sheffield's G Casino for the latest leg of the GUKPT Summer Series over the weekend. Amongst them were current GUKPT ranking point leader Alli Mallu, Newcastle Summer Series Main Event winner Hugh Frew and Gavin Hall who was aiming for his third GUKPT final table in a row.

None of them could match Luke Fields though who eliminated a string of players to set up a heads up clash with Tim Flanders. Fields went into two-handed play with the chip lead but the stacks evened out somewhat after Flanders' pocket 5s outran Fields' AK. Fields' retook control though and eventually sealed the win holding A8 against a short stacked Flanders' K6. The board brought no help leaving Flanders to settle for £6,700, a fine result considering he started the final table as the short stack.

Fields pocketed £9,250, the trophy plus a seat in the end of season Champion of Champions event in Coventry in November.

The next action on the Grosvenor Tour takes place at London's Victoria Casino and the G Casino in Manchester late next month. The eight-day festival at the Vic starts on 23rd August and culminates in a £750 Main Event starting on 29th August. The Manchester event is slightly smaller, running for five days, with a £500 Main Event, also starting on 29th August.

Qualifiers for GUKPT events are running at Gcasino.com and Blue Square Poker.
