Final table set at Aussie Millions Main Event

Friday, 29 January 2010

After Day 3, 18 players remained and now a final table has been set at the $10,500 AUD Main Event at the 2010 Aussie Millions tournament series. With $2,000,000 AUD to be won, the remaining players are all focused – and some are deadly at tournament final tables.

The final two tables of six were captained by tournament legends – Betfair’s Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi held the overall chip lead in the tournament while, on the other table, 2007 WSOPE champion and the $1,100 PLO winner in this very tournament series Annette Obrestad held the second-largest stack in play.

In the early hours of the GMT morning, the final eight were decided:
Seat 1: Sorel Mizzi - 6,033,000
Seat 2: Stephen Shelley - 991,000
Seat 3: Annette Obrestad - 1,349,000
Seat 4: Tyron Krost - 1,869,000
Seat 5: Frederik Jensen - 1,754,000
Seat 6: Kosta Varoxis - 635,000
Seat 7: Peter Jetten - 1,700,000
Seat 8: Steven Friedlander - 694,000

All the players are guaranteed a quarter of a million Australian dollars, almost the equivalent to their American cousins, with the top two players receiving seven figures and a first prize of $2,000,000.

Join us for our weekend news tomorrow when we’ll announce who won the massive championship at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.
