After a fifteen year hiatus, tournament poker is set to return to Caesars, Las Vegas. The World Series of Poker rolls into town on the 27 April with a beefed up schedule that will not only include a regular $10,000 buy-in no limit game, but also a $5,000 HOSE event. This will test player skills in Hold’em, Omaha, Stud and Stud Eight. Both events will take place in Caesars new, opulent, 6,000 square foot tournament room – a private area away from prying eyes.
Those who get eliminated early on can carry on playing, although they will be forcibly ejected from the private area and into the new 30-table poker room that can be found next door. Those lucky enough to stay in the fancy new compound have the chance of getting themselves a seat at the WSOP ‘Champion of Champions Freeroll’ event, in which 27 players vie for $2 million and bragging rights over their colleagues for the rest of the season. After Caesars, the WSOP bandwagon rolls into Harrah’s New Orleans and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, before winding up for the season.
