Once the preserve of men in questionable attire with a love for spending large amounts of cash to look good, poker has endlessly evolved from the stereotypes of years gone by. Everyone seems to know someone who’s making some decent cash from it, but how many are women?
Step forward Draw Dead, who have just launched first ever female only poker forum. Designed to give women a chance to ‘experience the sense of unity that men enjoy while playing poker’ apparently, the forum will offers tips as well as being a place for women to play freeroll tournaments for cash.
The idea came from two of Draw Dead’s leading female executives, Sara Freeman and Betty Leondhart, who are both self-confessed poker fanatics and wanted other women to feel the same. Whether they’ll achieve there goal remains in the balance, but if they can shed some light on the sense of unity blokes feel when dealing out cards, then surely the site will have been a huge success.
