Faraz Jaka takes huge chip lead into PCA Day 5

Thursday, 12 January 2012

Faraz Jaka has reclaimed the chip lead at the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Main Adventure after starting the day third in chips. He ascended the counts as the final 64 players were whittled down and by the time he eliminated Barry Greenstein on the final hand of the night, he had a full average stack more than his nearest competitor.

Greenstein and the other PokerStars Pros all fell today, with Arnaud Mattern and Luca Pagano all taking home a five-figure payday but coming up short of Day 5. Some big names remaining include Martin Jacobson and Xuan Liu, the last lady sitting. She will need to finish at least in ninth place to beat Ana Marquez’s run last year.

The 24 survivors return tonight to play down to a final table, at which the survivors will be guaranteed over $150,000 with a first prize of $2 million.

The chip leaders are as follows:

Faraz Jaka 4,114,000
Alex Fitzgerald 2,709,000
Phil D'Auteuil 2,280,000
Anthony Gregg 2,142,000
Byron Kaverman 2,136,000
Sam Greenwood 2,109,000
Kyle Julius 1,818,000
Lee Goldman 1,760,000
Martin Jacobson 1,627,000
Maksim Semisoshenko 1,446,000
