Faraz Jaka leads PCA Main Event after Day 2; bubble looms

Last night saw 544 survivors of the two opening flights return to the felt at the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure from the 1,072-strong starting field. After Day 2 just 183 players remain in contention with Faraz Jaka leading.

Jaka began with a decent stack of around 130,000 on Day 2 but managed to build up, culminating in his elimination of Chino Rheem to propel him into the chip lead with 902,500. This puts him way ahead of second-place Cristian Folescu on 555,500 and third Erik Cajelais on 528,500.


Other notable names to make it through to Day 3 play tonight include Arnaud Mattern (340,500), Luca Pagano (280,000), Harrison Gimbel (259,000), Xuan Liu (216,000) and defending champion Galen Hall (192,500). Also around are Carlos Mortensen, recent record-breaker Randy “nanonoko” Lew, Barry Greenstein and Yevgeniy Timoshenko.


Ashley Mason heads the UK challenge on 354,000 with Matthew Frankland 219,500 and Steven Chidwick 203,700 also riding high.
