Web-camera social video networking company Arsenal Interactive Inc has announced the launch of a free poker application for the Facebook platform called HeyCosmo Texas Hold 'Em.
The California-based company said that HeyCosmo Texas Hold 'Em is an intuitive web-cam service enabling live interactivity and communication online with access direct from Facebook personal profile pages.
After users download the application from the site, they can join a game in session or create one by inviting other players to join to begin play immediately. Each player has a full-motion video stream around a poker table that allows participants to see and talk to each other as if they were in the same room.
Arsenal said that its technology supports up to ten live web-cam video participants at a rate of 30 frames per second with up to 50 people able to watch, listen and chat during the games. At 30 frames per second, it's just like being in the same room, around the same poker table.
'With an increasing number of online gaming enthusiasts, it was just a natural transition for us to create a poker application specifically catered for interactive networks,' said James Im, President and Chief Executive Officer for Arsenal.
'It's an easy way for friends to connect, entertain and communicate with each other at the same time.'
