Fabrice Soulier leads Epic Poker League Event #2 Day 2

Thursday, 8 September 2011

The second Epic Poker League Main Event has finished its second day with Fabrice Soulier proving his top five Global Poker Index position is well-deserved. The Frenchman built his stack up to 453,500 over the course of Day 2 to take the chip lead over the 22 other survivors.

Soulier won a big pot against Andrew “good2cu” Robl that added an additional 194,000 to his stack at the end of the night; Robl committed his chips with Q-T on a K-T-x board only to see Soulier call with K-6 and hit a third king on the river. Robl joined many big names on the rail, including Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, Tom Dwan and Ben Lamb.

Other survivors include Pro/Am qualifiers Nam Le, Jaime Kaplan and recent bracelet-winner Sean Getzwiller as well as defending champion and runner-up Chino Rheem and Erik Seidel, who is third in chips.

Tomorrow the event will play down to the money bubble of 12 players before reaching a final table. Each of the top twelve will have locked up $46,020 with the final table receiving at least $57,530 and the winner taking home $782,410.
