Having to beat a field of 5,291 is tough enough. Realising that the last man stopping you from winning the championship and $450,000 is a Full Tilt pro might be a little demoralising.

Having to beat a field of 5,291 is tough enough. Realising that the last man stopping you from winning the championship and $450,000 is a Full Tilt pro might be a little demoralising. Neither the monster field nor Thomas Wahlroos could stop ‘Reverse’ from winning the flagship event at the Full Tilt Online Poker Series though.
The FTOPS is one of the most popular online series on the calendar, and so it proved for the main event as well over 5,200 players paid the $500+$35 buy-in, generating a prize pool of over $2.6 million.
The final table saw Wahlroos as the railbirds favourite as he hoped to follow on from the success of fellow Full Tilt pro Erick Lindgren who had won a previous event in the FTOPS series. It wasn’t to be though, with Wahlroos trying to overcome a 3-1 chiplead in heads-up play. The final hand saw Wahlroos push with Kd-9d and ‘reverse’ make the call with Ac-5c. The board ended up reading 5-T-2-6-2, meaning ‘reverse’ sealed the victory and the FTOPS title.
