Extreme Poker has announced plans to stage “The Great Canadian Poker Tournament brought to you by EmpirePoker.com” at the end of August 2005, EmpirePoker.com is the company’s online Poker site.

Extreme Poker has announced plans to stage “The Great Canadian Poker Tournament brought to you by EmpirePoker.com” at the end of August 2005, EmpirePoker.com is the company’s online Poker site. The event will be televised and open to all players and best of all there’s no entry fee.
“We are now taking applications for players on our web site (www.greatcdn.com), and to date the response has been enormous,” President of Extreme Poker Ltd Adam Feldman revealed. “‘The Great Canadian Poker Tournament, brought to you by EmpirePoker.com’ is the largest no free poker tournament of its kind in North America. The response by both participants and sponsors, for this event, bringing poker to main street America, has proven we are the product of choice. We are far from satisfying the insatiable demand for poker product; however, we feel we are well positioned to be the industry leader”.
The tournament will be the focus of a reality style TV show, which will follow the build up and end with the tournament itself. The tournament will be open to all and the final winner could walk away with an estimated $150,000.
