Everest Poker announces $1m World Series bonus

Thursday, 9 April 2009

Official sponsors of the 2009 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Everest Poker has announced an extra incentive for players who qualify for the Main Event via their site. They will match the cash earned by players who qualify via Everest Poker in the Main Event up to a $1m and distribute it equally amongst all of their qualifiers.

"Our aim last year, our first as official sponsor, was to encourage more European players than ever before to go to the WSOP - which we did," said Sondre Wassas, Nordic Regional Manager Everest Gaming. "This year we want to reward that loyalty by offering a knock-out reason to qualify with us. This bonus gives everybody hope of winning something even if they are out early and it will also give an added sense of camaraderie to all those qualified with us."

If the promotion had been running in last year's Main Event each of Everest's 62 qualifiers would have picked up an additional $20,000 even if they were nowhere near cashing. This year, an Everest player could even bust out on the first hand and still show a tidy profit.

Satellites for the WSOP Main Event are currently running on Everest Poker starting at just $3. For full details see http://www.everestpoker.com/en/wsop/2009/millionmatch.html
