Everest Poker has announced that a series of biweekly tournaments, offering players the chance to win a seat at the upcoming World Series of Poker Main Event, have begun.
'The World Series of Poker Main Event is a massive tournament for any player to be a part of,' said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager. 'Getting there is not easy at all, and that's why we're very eager to see how our players perform.'
The first direct entry tournament for seats was held on 19 May 2007 at 15:00 GMT. Further tournaments will be held on a biweekly basis, with the next occurring on 2 June. Buy-in for these direct entry poker tournaments is $100 plus 9. Seats in the biweekly tournaments can also be gained through daily satellite tournaments featuring a low buy-in of $11+1.
'Players who win a seat at the WSOP Main Event get a complete package. Everest Poker covers the $10,000 it'd take to get to walk through the door as well as their travel expenses,' May added. 'We even make sure you get Everest Poker gear.'
