The inaugural Everest Poker 4 Charity tournament took place last weekend at the Grand Casino Brussels in Belgium attracting 100 players and raising €5,000 for charity in the process.
Nine captains from regional poker teams across the country competed against one another to raise funds for several charitable organizations. €1,000 went to the winners of the tournament – Team Kempen’s charity the Veeweyde Animal Asylum.
10 different tournaments were held throughout the day and each team member accumulated points by staying in the game as long as possible. The winner of each single No Limit Texas Hold’em table tournament participated in a “final table” where players competed individually for the honour of the Everest Poker 4 Charity Champion title.
First place winner Stino beat 100 other players to raise money for his team’s charity. Female Player Qiewie (team Kortrijk) made third place after sinking professional poker player Marc Naalden’s chipstack a few hands earlier with two Aces on the flop. Her King kicker beat Marc Naalden’s Queen.
Each of the teams was awarded with a prize for their charity based on their team’s achievements.
