Russian poker player Nikolay Evdakov has officially broken the record for the number of cashes in one World Series of Poker. His cash in the $2k No Limit Hold’em event saw the player make the money in his ninth event of the 2008 WSOP, breaking the previous record of eight.
Evdakov’s ninth cash came in the $2,000 No Limit Hold’em event where he ended up finishing 158th for a total of $4,216. The previous record of eight cashes in one year was shared by Humberto Brenes (2006), Phil Hellmuth Jr. (2006), Chad Brown (2007) and Michael Binger (2007).
Evdakov’s other cashes were as follows:

$1,500 No Limit Hold'em (139th, $4,559)
$1,000 No Limit Hold'em with Rebuys (48th, $9,839)
