The seaside town of Varna in Bulgaria is best known for featuring in Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. The only stakes needed next month will be cash and chip related though as the European Masters of Poker series hits the Black Sea resort.

Players will be competing for an estimated prize fund of 300,000 euro in the Bulgarian leg of the European Masters of Poker Series at the Golden Sands Resort in Varna next month.

A field of 300 is expected in the 1,100 euro buy in event with the winner set to take home an estimated 80,000 euro first prize.

Qualification for the three day event, which runs from 15th to 18th April, is ongoing on the Entraction network with a least 10 packages worth 1,800 euro up for grabs. Satellites start from just 2 euro or 200 VIP points with 100 euro main qualifiers held every Wednesday and Sunday at 6.40pm.

The first leg of the Masters series, held in Tallinn in Estonia, was won by Finland’s Johanna Pyysing who beat former EPT Barcelona champion Norewegian Bjorn Erik-Glenne to claim the 69,440 euro first prize.

After Bulgaria, the series heads to the Czech Republic for the Prague Masters in late June followed by stops in Spain and Malta.
