Eugene “FishosaurusREX” Yanayt leads EPT Grand Final

Wednesday, 11 May 2011

A speedy Day 3 has left us with 24 players remaining in contention at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Grand Final. The pressure mounts as each player left is guaranteed €40,000 for making it this far and will play down to a final table today.

Leading the way is Eugene Yanayt after he called a turn raise and a river overbet on a A-Q-T-3-x board holding 3-3 for bottom set against Ole Kristian Nergard, who could only muster Q-4 and dropped down to less than ten big blinds. With that, Yanayt collected 2.3m in chips which he brings into Day 4.

Victor Ramdin and Alex Gomes are still in the field with the latter hoping to make poker’s Triple Crown after a WPT title in 2009 and a WSOP bracelet the year before. Today the field plays down to a final eight who will all be taking home at least €130,000 but competing for the €1,500,000 first prize.
