Erik Seidel, Tom Marchese and William Reynolds at WPT final

Wednesday, 13 April 2011

As expected, Erik Seidel has made the official final table of the World Poker Tour Hollywood Poker Open, arriving at the final six in third place ahead of final tabling machines Ali Eslami and Tom Marchese but trailing William Reynolds.

Reynolds, who is best known for his three consecutive final tables (second, second, first) at the $25,000 PCA High Roller event from 2009 – 2011, won the largest pot of the tournament in the last hand of play to bust chip leader starting the day Mike Barshak. The two got it in with Q-Q and A-K respectively and a board of J-J-5-T-Q gave Barshak a straight but Reynolds a full house, propelling him to over 1.1m in chips.

With blinds at 2.5k/5k when final table play kicks off tomorrow it’s a dominating chip lead with second-place Mike Scarborough trailing on 654.5k. Each player returning tomorrow has won at least $50,962 with a top prize of $273,664 and a WPT bracelet for the winner. Here’s how the stacks shape up:

1.William Reynolds 1.169m
2.Mike Scarborough 654.5k
3.Erik Seidel 645k
4.Ali Eslami 213k
5.Tom Marchese 175k
6.Andy Whetstone 80.5k
