Eric Baldwin becomes UB pro

Wednesday, 23 December 2009

When you think of Baldwins the first people that spring to mind are probably actor Alec and Coronation Street’s cockney spiv Mike. UB will be hoping that Eric Baldwin becomes just as familiar as Alec and Mike as it has made him its latest sponsored pro.

Baldwin has capped a fine season by winning the 2009 Player of the Year award. The 26-year-old won his first WSOP bracelet earlier this year, taking down the $1,500 Limit Hold’em event for a score of over half a million dollars. He got close to bracelet number two with a third place finish in the $10,000 PLO World Championship and has continued his excellent run by winning the $1,000 side event at the recent Doyle Brunson Classic, bagging almost $300,000.

A delighted Baldwin said, “It’s awesome to be a part of Team UB. Every player has different styles and different outlooks. It’s going to be great to be in contact with such great players and people, and we’re going to make each other better. We’re also going to work to improve the brand and help the site grow and be the best that it can be.”

Annie Duke added, “Eric Baldwin isn't just a new UB pro, he is UB. Eric loves this game more than anything in the world, he plays to win, and he's respected for his passion at the tables. We really couldn't be more ecstatic to have the Player of the Year on our team."

He joins a team that includes Phil Hellmuth, Joe Sebok, Brandon Cantu and Liv Boeree.
