ElkY breaks Sit n Go record

Fresh from his third place finish at the WPT Championship, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier set himself another stiff challenge while preparing for the EPT final in Monte Carlo, namely to play as many sit n goes in an hour and still show a profit.

In the end the Frenchman managed 62 PokerStars $6.50 tournaments in just 60 minutes and showed a profit of $23.67.

After ploughing his way through 61 events (with up to 40 tourneys running simultaneously on four monitors at one stage) ElkY needed a cash in his final Sit n Go to complete the challenge. Not content with finishing in the money he ended up winning his final tournament.

Commenting on his feat the Team PokerStars pro said "It was out of control. Short-handed play went so fast and I was sitting out a lot, but at the end I managed to regain momentum and got better. I thought I was down a lot, actually. I felt like I kept losing and sitting out of the early games."

PokerStars pro Hevad Khan, no stranger himself to multi-tabling, was full of admiration for ElkY’s achievement "I'm impressed, because there are two difficulties in what he was trying to do. It's very hard to play 62 tables and turn a profit and it's also very hard to play that many tables without starting smaller and working your way up."
