ElkY and Katchalov get on their bikes

Saturday, 6 October 2012

The high rollers of the felt became high rollers of the road yesterday. Rather than taking a car, train or helicopter from Cannes to the EPT event in San Remo, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov decided to take Tony G's advice and get on their bike for the the 118 kilometre journey.

The bike ride was part of a prop bet agreed during the recent WCOOP where the person making the lower amount of money would have to take to the pedals. Despite coming out on top in the cash race, Katchalov decided to accompany his friend and rival on the roads along with trainer Lincon Rodrigues and his wife Petra Janssen van Doorn.

The group made good time despite ElkY getting lost en route. "I was following the others and then they disappeared," he told the PokerStars blog. "So I followed signs to Italy, but they went a different way to Italy."

They eventually rolled into the Italian resort after around six hours. And what do they want from EPT San Remo, apart from a deep run of course. “Nice and comfortable seats,” said Katchalov.
