Eli Elezra leads WSOP event #44 $2.5k Mixed Hold'em

Friday, 25 June 2010

The regulars on High Stakes Poker haven't been especially successful at this year's WSOP. Sammy Farha is the only bracelet winner so far but that could be about to change with Eli Elezra leading the way in the $2.5k Mixed Hold'em event.

Elezra leads the 70 remaining players at the end of day 1 with a stack of 181,000, comfortably ahead of nearest rival Jim 'Mr_BigQueso' Collopy who finished the day with 113,000 chips. Other notables still in the hunt for the event #44 bracelet include Erica Schoenberg, Matt Matros, Gavin Smith, Andreas Hoivold, Jeff Shulman and Praz Bansi.

Tom Dwan's quest for a bracelet continues but he won't be getting one in this event. Joining Durrrr on the rail on the opening day were the likes of Allen Cunningham, Michael Mizrachi, Sorel Mizzi and Liv Boeree.

The action resumes at 10.30pm UK time when the field will be whittled down to a final table of nine. Join us tomorrow to see who's still in line for the $268k first prize.
