Eastgate bracelet $41k and rising

UNICEF stand to get a very tidy donation next week with the bidding for Peter Eastgate's 2008 WSOP bracelet already topping the $41,000 mark.

Among the interested parties is none other than motormouth Tony G who has an unorthodox use for the unique piece of jewellery should he win the auction. The talkative Aussie wrote on his blog, “What am I going to do with Peter’s bracelet? Well, the plan is to get it adapted into a special collar for my trusted German Shepherd Zasko. The ultimate dog bling – as my gladiator and protector he deserves to be kitted out in such style”.

“People will accuse me of trying to make a mockery of Peter’s WSOP Main Event win but that is not the intention – I really want to do this. I respect Peter’s decision to turn around and say that’s it – each to their own and hope that the money I give him for the bracelet goes to a good cause.”

It looks like Gouga will have his work cut out getting the bracelet though. A total of 32 bids have been placed so far with the current leader at $41,100. The auction will reach its conclusion next Thursday with all the proceeds going to UNICEF. To follow the bidding visit eBay.com.
