Peter Eastgate is no lucky donk who won the Main Event. Prior to his win he played high stakes online and since then he has won the $5,000 side event at the PCA as well as played solidly against the best in the world on High Stakes Poker.
The youngest-ever Main Event winner, at 23 smashing Hellmuth’s 19-year record, has now signed for Team PokerStars in an exclusive sponsorship deal.
In addition, the site have signed runner-up to Eastgate Ivan Demidov – the only person to make the final table of the WSOP and WSOPE in the same year, where he finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
"I was inspired to do well at this year's WSOP after watching the success of fellow countryman and Team PokerStars Pro Alex Kravchenko – so to join the team and play alongside him is a real honour,” said Demidov.
