Eames Heads GUKPT Manchester

Friday, 20 September 2013

Could there be an overlay in the offing at GUKPT Manchester? It's never happened before but with just 54 entries on Day 1a it will need to be busy today in order to hit the £200,000 guarantee.

One man who certainly won't be complaining after the opening flight is John Eames. The Team Ivey Poker member turned his starting stack of 20,000 into 140,075 by the close of play which was easily good enough for the overnight chip lead.

Other notables among the 19 day 1a survivors included UK tournament regular Lawrence Gosney (85,000), and Simon Deadman (34,250). It's already been a profitable trip to the north west for this year's WPT Dublin winner as he pocketed £8,000 after taking down the £300 side event.

The day 1a chip leaders are as follows:

John Eames 140075
Danny Blair 113450
Masud Prodhan 91900
Darren Delahunty 91800
Mark Lane 85300
Lawrence Gosney 85000
Tony Broadbent 61475
Stephen Montgomery 60375
David Greenhough 48400
Andreas Olympios 46525

A much bigger field is expected today. Join us throughout the weekend for updates from Manchester.
