EPT Vienna Day 1A complete

EPT Vienna Day 1A complete

Wednesday, 27 October 2010

234 players gathered at the beautiful Kursalon Palace in Vienna for the latest leg of the European Poker Tour yesterday and by the close of play, exactly half had hit the rail with the other 117 players still hoping for a €500,000 pay day.

Ukraine's Sergii Baranov was the chip leader at bagging up time, one of seven eastern Europeans who filled the top eight slots. Nestled amongst that Slavic sandwich was Briton Stephen Chidwick who ended the day in seventh position. Barny Boatman is also still in the hunt as are fellow Brits Charles Combes, Matthew Frankland, Bruce Atkinson, Jack Ellwood and Jake Cody.

A number of top pros also made it through to day 2 including Team PokerStars Pros Martin Hruby, Lex Veldhuis, Michael Keiner, Jan Skampa and EPT Barcelona runner up Santiago Terrazas.

More top names are set to join the Day 1B action today at noon. Join us tomorrow to see who has made it through to Day 2.
