The EPT Polish Open is now down to 26, and the field includes a mix of north Europeans, south Europeans, Americans, and one Andy Black of Ireland.
Fresh off his success at the Premier League event in London, Black was joined by 129 others at the start of the day. Beginning with a fairly average stack of 40,000, he managed to glide up to 100,000.
Then came one of those moments, when the chips started heading back out of the stack to the rest of the field as he crashed as low as 15,000. One thing readers of Bluff Europe will soon find out is that the man is not one to get caught up in the emotions of previous hands though, and he managed to claw his way back to 85,000 with a new found determination which has most likely been augmented by his debut win in the English capital.
Away from Black, a new record was set as Trond Eidsvig and Thierry van den Berg made it four cashes in a single season. Those who won’t be coming back for the third day of play include Julian Thew, Liz Lieu, Jonny Lodden, and Danny Ryan.
The top ten in chips going into Day Three are:
Juan Maceiras (Spain) 388,000
Claus Nielsen (Denmark) 345,500
Mathias Viberg (Sweden) 284,000
Ricardo Sousa (Portugal) 239,000
Kenneth Hicks Jr. (USA) 225,000
Daniel Woolson (USA) 188,500
Dan B. Pedersen (Denmark) 178,000
Henrik Gwinner (Denmark) 165,000
Willian Johnson (USA) 158,000
Christian Öman (Sweden) 147,500
