Day 2 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour grand final in Monte Carlo saw the remaining 413 players reduced to just 116 in seven blind levels, leaving us well inside the money bubble when Day 3 begins today.

The first prize has been set at a tasty €1.7m with each player at the seven-handed final table guaranteed €200,000 and seven figures going to the top two finishers. Those with their eyes on the prize currently include David “Doc Sands” Sands, Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro, former WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker and Vicky Coren. Nick Schulman currently holds the chip lead with a gargantuan stack of 742,500 followed by David Sesso, Jean Francois Talbot and Briton Matt Perrins.


Other British challengers still in with a shot of making it back-to-back EPTs with Liv Boeree include Neil Channing, Irish Open champion James Mitchell, Teddy Sheringham and Toby Lewis.
