EPT Madrid starts today

Monday, 12 March 2012

The European Poker Tours hits Spain today in the form of EPT Madrid which gets under way this lunchtime. The first of two opening flights in the €5,000+€300 Main Event starts at noon local time with a second flight following at the same time tomorrow.

The usual selection of Team PokerStars pros, assortment of online qualifiers and the crème de la crème of European tournament talent will be heading to the Spanish capital, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ivan Freitez who won last year's EPT Championship finale in Madrid.

Freitez pocketed a first prize of €1.5m after outlasting a field of 686 runners in last year's EPT season ending finale.

Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier will also be in town, hoping to defend the high roller title he claimed last May.
