Tuesday, 28 September 2010

As the WSOPE action at Empire draws to a close, attention shifts across London to the Hilton Metropole for the PokerStars EPT London festival which starts today.

Kicking things off is the £5,000 NL Hold'em heads up Championship at noon followed by the £2,000 European 8 Game Championship at 2pm. A £1,000 NL Hold'em event takes place at 4pm with a £300 Turbo hold'em tournament rounding off the opening day at 8pm.

A total 37 events are scheduled between now and Tuesday October 5th with millions of pounds up for grabs. Top billing of course goes to the £5,000 EPT London Main Event. The first of two opening flights starts tomorrow at noon with the second pencilled in a day later, also at noon. The new champion will be crowned on Monday evening.

There are plenty of other events to keep the railbirds happy, most notably the four-day High Roller tournament that kicks off on Saturday with the hefty buy in of £20,000. The full schedule can be seen at EPT London Schedule.

Aaron Gustavson outlasted a British record field of 730 runners to claim last year's EPT London title beating former World Champion Peter Eastgate to claim the £850,000 first prize.
