EPT London – Day 1a complete, Porbandarwala leads

Thursday, 30 September 2010

A huge amount of entrants – 339, to be precise – entered the Hilton Metropole for Day 1a of the European Poker Tour London Main Event including an armada of pros, PokerStars or otherwise, and online qualifiers from PokerStars.

Winding up atop the chip counts when all was said and done is online qualifier Soheb Porbandarwala. He was the only player to run up his 30,000 starting stack to more than 200,000; finishing the day with 218,600.

Luca Pagano, Vanessa Selbst, Carlos Mortensen, Erik Seidel, Roland de Wolfe and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier all entered but failed to make it back for Day 2, their chips going across the felt and into the stacks of their opponents. However, the likes of John Juanda, Allen Cunningham, Barry Shulman and Arnaud Mattern will be joining us for Day 2 plus we still have Day 1b today to get the pro contingent up.

This EPT is aiming to break the record for most players in a UK live tournament, set last year when 730 players competed in the EPT London 2009.
