EPT Grand Final to Host Monaco Cup

EPT Grand Final to Host Monaco Cup

Tuesday, 23 April 2013

Following the success of this year’s Berlin Cup at the ongoing EPT event in Berlin, the organisers of the tour have just announced a that a similar event will take place at the EPT Grand Final in Monte-Carlo.

Offering a €500,000 prizepool and holding an entrance fee of 1,100, the Monaco Cup will form part of a 50 event schedule that will include the €10,600 Main Event, as well as €25,000 and €100,000 Super High Roller tournaments.

Indeed, the creation of the Monaco Cup is largely thanks to the success of the recent Berlin Cup. In total 911 players from across the world took part in the event and after four days of action Pieter de Korver walked away with the title.

Commenting on the new event, Neil Jones, PokerStars’ head of live poker operations, said: “his event will feature three Day 1s and will give players the opportunity to re-enter on Day 1b and Day 1c.“

This addition to the schedule, as well as the recent announcement that there will be more cash games on offer than ever before, certainly bodes well for the EPT’s season finale and those in attendance.

Satellites for the EPT Grand Final are up and running at PokerStars. New players that deposit for the first time will earn $20 of free play.
