EPT Grand Final Starts Today

Tuesday, 28 April 2015

The finale of Europe's leading live poker tour, the EPT, gets underway today with the first of its 78 events. Taking place once again in the lavish surroundings of the Monte-Carlo Casino, the festival will feature the cream of the world's poker talent for 11 days until May 8.

Kicking off the festival will be a series of low stakes side events run in conjunction with the France Poker Series (FPS), before the bigger buy-in events start later in the week. For many making the trip to Monaco, the jewel in the crown will be the €10,600 Main Event which will feature all the champions from this year's tour.

Set to get under way on Saturday, the season ending finale will boast two Day 1s before the field is gradually whittled down to a final table on May 8. As ever, PokerStars will be offering live updates, streams and daily recaps of the event as well as other highlights from the schedule.

In fact, beyond the Main Event, the two tournaments that are likely to pique the interest of players across the world are the €25,500 and €100,000 Super High Rollers. While the €25,500 has also fared well, the organisers are predicting even bigger things for the €100,000 this year with early estimates suggesting it could be the largest field ever.

Among the 40 players already registered to play are the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Isaac Haxton, Sam Trickett and Antonio Esfandiari. With re-entries allowed and more players expected to ante-up on April 30, it's highly likely that super high roller could generate one of the largest prize pools in poker history.

As the festival unfolds there will be plenty of action to report on so make sure you check back over the coming days for the latest from the EPT Grand Final 2015.
