EPT Grand Final Kicks Off

Monday, 28 April 2014

The Grand Final of Season 10 from the European Poker Tour (EPT) began over the weekend from Monte Carlo and has so far seen more than 640 players take to the felt for two opening main event flights.

With registration open until the start of Day 2, which kicks off later today, this number is expected to increase further with 347 hopefuls fighting for a place in Day 3.

So far, the marquee Monaco event has seen a number of high-profile eliminations including Jake Cody and Daniel Negreanu but there is still a host of famous faces scrapping for the EPT's premier trophy.

Day 2 is set to see the likes of Liv Boeree and Tom Middleton fighting for survival while Hendrik Latz, Samir Hadad and Davidi Kitai will be leading the charge when things get underway.

While Latz currently has the overall lead in the €10,600 ($14,702) buy-in event with a stack of 191,600 chips, he will find himself facing even more opposition as the session progresses thanks to the additional presence of JC Alvarado, Simon Deadman, Dani Stern and Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier.

Today's session will see the final prize pool announced with around 200 players set to fall short of this year's EPT Grand Final title.
