Tuesday, 31 January 2012

After trips to The Bahamas and Australia, the centre of the poker world returns to Europe this week with the latest leg of the PokerStars European Poker Tour starting in Deauville today.

The first of two opening day flights in the €5,000 Main Event gets under way in the French resort this lunchtime with a host of top talent expected to play. Amongst the starters will be 2010 World Champ Jonathan Duhamel, PCA champ Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, EPT San Remo winner Liv Boeree and this month's Bluff Europe cover star Eugene Katchalov.

Jake Cody won the EPT Deauville title in 2010, pocketing a cool €847,000. Parisian pest controller Lucien Cohen took the honours last year, outlasting an 891-runner field to take home €880,000.
