EPT Deauville Kicks Off

Monday, 4 February 2013

It’s the place where Jake Cody made his big break on the live poker scene and today the British grinder try to do it all again as Day 1B of PokerStars EPT Deauville begins in earnest.

Cody was notable by his absence during yesterday’s opening session, but among the 307 starters there were a handful of famous faces on display.
Marvin Rettenmaier, John Eames, Vanessa Rousso and Sam Grafton all put in positive shifts as they survived the day and marched on as one of the remaining 167 players.

For all the top talent in action, it was Jesper Feddersen who topped the chip counts ahead of Patrick Schuhl.
The online qualifier might be playing his third live tournament ever, but on his way to collecting 188,900 chips he played with the confidence of a veteran.

Today’s session is expected to attract even more runners as some more of poker’s finest look to take their final chance to make it through to Day 2.
Day 1A Top Five Chip Counts:

1st Jesper Feddersen 188,900
2nd Patrick Schuhl 142,700
3rd Andrei Stoeneschu 131,800
4th Remi Le Meur 127,200
5th Daniel Dodet 124,100
