The winner of the European Poker Tour's four-day Scandinavian Open poker tourney will reportedly be taking home a cool €525,000.
Direct buy-ins to the event, which takes place in Copenhagen next year between January 17 and 20, were in big demand by international poker pros and have apparently already sold out.
Plucky poker players and wannabe winners can still gain entry, however, by battling at online satellite competitions being staged on a number of sites. Most have low buy-ins and offer travel and entry packages for the big event next year.
As well as the offering the chance to pit poker play skills against some of the field’s best respected pros, the tourney boasts an estimated prizepool of some €1.8 million ensuring that plenty of players will finish in the money even if they don’t get close to the prestigious first place finish.
