EPT Copenhagen Day 1b complete; €338k for first
Wednesday, 22 February 2012
Day 1b of the PokerStars European Poker Tour event in Copenhagen attracted a field of 216, nearly three times the 83 players who turned out for Day 1a. With 131 making it to Day 2, Mads Wissing on 127,575 is the man to catch.
Wissing, who final tabled EPT Prague late last year, is well-poised to make a good run at his second EPT final. He still trails Day 1a chip leader
Steve O’Dwyer, though. Other notable survivors of Day 1b include
Luca Pagano – naturally – as well as
Juha Helppi,
Martin Staszko,
Theo Jorgensen and
Johnny Lodden.
Ben Vinson, with 80,675, was one of the few British players to survive Day 1B. Joining him are
Ashley Mason 65,850 and
John Eames 17,400.
Of the 179 competing in Day 2, 48 will be paid at least 55,000 DKK ($9,800) with the winner set to take home over 2.5 million DKK ($447,811).
