The EPT is now coming to the closing stretch of Season 4, with Denmark playing host to the next leg of the tour. Returning to European shores will be Daniel Negreanu, along with the usual swarm of Team PokerStars Pros, one of whom will be trying to go one step further than last year.
The 50,000 DKK ($9,831) buy-in event at the Casino Copenhagen is already a sell-out, with 460 players generating a record Scandinavian prizepool of almost €3 million.
Those expected from the Team PokerStars clan are 2005 Scandinavian Open winner Noah Boeken, Daniel Negreanu, Tom McEvoy, Bill Chen, Katja Thater, Luca Pagano and Dario Minieri.
Also returning to Denmark is Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, fresh off the win in the EPT win at the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure. The victory in the Caribbean may have been ElkY’s breakthrough moment on the live circuit, but some forget he had a golden opportunity when going heads-up for an EPT title in this event last year. Those of you who want to know more about his success at the Caribbean and his near miss the year before might want to keep an eye out for the next issue of Bluff Europe magazine…
As we like to do from time to time, we make predictions of who we think will win – which invariably turns into a poker curse for the chosen one. On that note, expect a strong performance from Grospellier again, whilst Negreanu will obviously be the one many rate as the man to beat.
