Dwan vs. the Machine?

Friday, 11 July 2014

According to a recent forum post on 2+2, Tom 'durrrr' Dwan was involved in some unusual high stakes action during this year's WSOP.

Although unconfirmed, a number of posters have suggested that Dwan took on a Limit Hold'em computer in a heads-up battle.

With the action being cross booked by a group of high stakes players from Bobby's Room, Dwan was effectively playing $5,000/$10,000 against the poker software.

At one point it's rumoured that Dwan was 400 big bets ahead of the machine and the players betting against him were starting to worry.

However, by the end of the match it's been reported that Dwan had been pegged back by the computer and walked away with a $1.5 million profit.
Quite how accurate the latest details are remains unclear, but it seems that Dwan is still able to mix it up at the highest stakes, even if his opponent is only possesses artificial intelligence.
